About Wakehurst
Explore Kew’s wild botanic garden at Wakehurst in the heart of Sussex. Spanning 500 acres, it offers diverse landscapes for families to discover, from formal gardens and woodlands to lakes and the deep rocky ravine of Westwood Valley. Children love the natural log trail ‘Treetrunk Trek’ and the adventure play areas designed to blend into the landscape. Don’t miss the Millennium Seed Bank, where you can glimpse scientists at work conserving seeds from around the world through interactive exhibits. With plenty of space for picnics, stunning seasonal displays (like bluebells in spring and vibrant autumn colour), and family-friendly events throughout the year, Wakehurst provides a beautiful setting for outdoor exploration, learning about plant conservation, and enjoying nature together.
