INSIDER KNOWLEDGE
1 Quietest Times
Visit on a weekday morning, especially during term time, for a much quieter experience. Many animals are also more active before midday.
2 Picnic Pro Tip
Pack your own lunch! There are plenty of picnic benches and grassy areas, offering a relaxed and budget-friendly alternative to the cafe.
3 Keeper Insights
Look out for informal keeper talks near enclosures like the tigers or tapirs, often announced on the day. It's a great chance for kids to ask questions.
INSIDER TIP
Ask at reception if there are any free animal spotter sheets available – they sometimes have themed ones or extras not put out on general display.
About Linton Zoo
Linton Zoo focuses on conservation and offers a more intimate zoo experience, ideal for families. Located in beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside, it’s home to a variety of big cats, including lions, tigers, and snow leopards, as well as zebras, tapirs, lemurs, owls, parrots, giant tortoises, and more. The zoo is set within 18 acres of gardens, featuring aviaries and paddocks designed with conservation breeding programmes in mind. Kids enjoy seeing the animals in a relaxed setting, and there’s a small play area for younger children. It’s a great opportunity to learn about endangered species and the importance of conservation without the scale of larger zoos.
