About Amberley Museum
Discover the industrial heritage of the South East at Amberley Museum, a 36-acre open-air museum set in a former chalk quarry. Families can explore workshops showcasing traditional crafts like printing, pottery, and blacksmithing. Ride on the narrow-gauge railway and vintage buses that operate around the site (check operating days). See collections related to communications, electricity, road transport, and more. Kids enjoy the hands-on exhibits, spotting village Paviors fixing roads (on event days!), and exploring the different buildings. The museum often hosts special events focusing on specific themes like steam power or classic vehicles. It offers a fascinating glimpse into the working past, with plenty of space to roam and intriguing exhibits to capture the interest of all ages.
