Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park is an award winning wildlife park, rare breeds farm, restaurant and wedding venue based in the heart of Suffolk.
The wildlife park, owned by TV presenter and conservationist Jimmy Doherty, is home to world class facilities such as Europe’s largest polar bear reserve.
‘Sharing the Good Life’ encapsulates their belief that the natural world should be accessible and available to all and they have a newly launched charity called Space for the Wild which will drive their conservation efforts.
From pigs to polar bears the park is a centre of excellence for British rare breeds as well as camels, primates, tapir and crocodiles amongst other animals.
Visitors can also hand feed some animals and get even closer with special animal talks & activities on every day included in your admission.

Things To Do
The Lost Lands of the Tundra
Our world-class Tundra reserve is home to our extraordinary polar bear as well as other species from the Tundra region like the artic foxes, artic wolves and reindeer.
The reserve features grassy plains, lakes fed from natural springs and a large area of woodland.
Wonderwoods
Our woodland truly is a wonder that enables you to experience native plants and animals, a time walk, den building and a relaxing coffee break.
The woodland is the perfect place to spot many native plants and animals and, if you’re extremely lucky, you may even see the rare Dormouse or Stagbeetles. In the spring, the bluebells offer a dazzling spectacle of colour and scent.
Outback Safari
Here you can meet our inquisitive emus and wonderful wallabies and stroll amongst them in their large, open enclosure. Outback safari is 16,800km from Sydney, however you don’t need to take a flight to get up close and personal to these amazing Australian animals, here at Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park.
Butterfly House
Enter the exotic environment of our butterfly house where you can meet our group of lemurs, see the magnificent plants and beautiful flowers and enjoy colourful butterflies flying freely around you.
Here you may spot the large fruit eating owl butterflies whose markings are meant to deter predators. As their name suggests the markings mimic that of an owls eyes and feathers.
Tropical House
Meet our animals friends including Argentine Black & White Tegu, Sulcata Tortoises, Boa Constrictor and Crocodiles!

Fishing With Dolly
How would you like to catch your own fish? Well here at Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park you can!
Come and meet our expert fisherman Dolly, who has been at the farm for many years. He will show you how to catch the fish and guide you in how to successfully secure your catch, take your time and be patient, then gently pull them in!
How To Get There
Travelling by Car
We are close to the A12 and just a 5-minute drive from the A14, in Wherstead near Ipswich.
With free parking, it’s a perfect destination for a whole day or a great stop off to stretch your legs and grab a bite to eat.
Typical road travel times:

- Bury St Edmunds – 40 mins
- Brentwood – 1 hour
- London – 1 hour 50 mins
By Train
If you are travelling by train, we are just a 10-minute taxi ride from Ipswich or Manningtree railway stations (both with direct links to London Liverpool Street Station served by Abellio Greater Anglia).
