About John Bunyan Museum & Library

Step into the 17th century and discover the life and times of John Bunyan, Bedford’s most famous resident and author of ‘The Pilgrim’s Progress’. Located next to the church where Bunyan ministered, the museum uses imaginative displays, interactive exhibits, and reconstructions to tell his story – from his tinker origins to his imprisonment and writing. Families can learn about local history and the impact of his work. It offers free entry and often runs family-friendly trails and activities during school holidays, making history accessible and engaging for children in Bedford town centre.
