About Nowton Park

Discover Nowton Park, a beautiful public park on the edge of Bury St Edmunds covering nearly 200 acres. Known for its stunning arboretum, which features trees from around the world, and the unique panda Pinetum. Enjoy scenic walks through wildflower meadows, woodland trails, and alongside picturesque ponds. Families love the large adventure playground, football pitches, and ample space for picnics and games. There’s also a maze modelled on a traditional Suffolk hornbeam hedge maze. The park centre offers refreshments and information. A fantastic free destination for outdoor family fun and exploration throughout the year.

Park open daily from dawn until dusk. Cafe opening times vary seasonally, typically 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Entry to Nowton Park is free. Pay and display parking charges apply.

Birthday party hire

Formal birthday party packages are not offered by the park management, but families are welcome to use the park for informal gatherings and picnics.
