About Puzzlewood
Step into the magical, moss-covered world of Puzzlewood, a rare and ancient temperate rainforest in the heart of the Forest of Dean. With over a mile of winding woodland pathways, you’ll explore twisting tree roots, deep ravines, wooden bridges, and mysterious rock formations called scowles. This otherworldly landscape has inspired scenes in Star Wars, Doctor Who, and other iconic productions – and once you visit, you’ll see why.
Perfect for a family day out, Puzzlewood offers a natural playground for all ages. Kids can take part in a Roman coin treasure hunt, visit farm animals, and enjoy indoor and outdoor play areas. Educational boards along the trail reveal more about the area’s unique geology, history, and film connections. Whether you’re a curious explorer, nature lover, or fantasy fan, Puzzlewood promises a magical experience in one of Britain’s most enchanting woodlands.
